OUR PROGRAM
Music Together® Worldwide®
Rooted in decades of research, Music Together® is designed to support your child’s development through active music-making. Each class is filled with singing, dancing, tonal play, instrument play and joyful interactions that nurture your child.
Music Together classes are based on the understanding that all children are musical and that they learn best in a playful, supportive, and mixed-age environment.
WHAT WE DO
In each class, families sing, dance, do rhythm chants, play instruments, and make joyful music together in a relaxed, non-performance-oriented setting. The program encourages caregivers to model active music-making, helping children develop their natural musical abilities through immersion, exploration, and connection.
WHY MUSIC?
Music is a uniquely human way of knowing the world around us, learning who we are, expressing feelings when we have no words, and understanding things with our hearts when we can't with our minds. And it starts in the first days and years of life.
Music forges unique connections in the brain, integrating mind, body, and emotions. Immersion in an interactive, musically rich environment like Music Together® fosters children's music skills as well as their growth and development in many other areas essential to success in school and life, such as creativity, self-expression, and confidence. It supports language, cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development and helps them have a positive attitude toward learning.
With ongoing music experience from birth to kindergarten, children develop the ability to sing in tune and keep a beat and gain the disposition to be a music-maker and learner, setting them up with a solid foundation for formal music and dance instruction.

NEW SONGS EACH SESSION
Music Together music is designed to inspire the whole family to listen and play along. Tuition includes a beautifully illustrated songbook and recordings of the award-winning music for home use!
Each song collection includes original songs and traditional tunes from a range of musical styles, including folk, blues, jazz, and world music, with varied cultural origins, tonalities and meters. The recordings contain the songs, rhythmic chants, and tonal and rhythm patterns we learn in class. The arrangements are fun and sophisticated, and the tunes are catchy; you might find yourself singing Music Together songs even when your kids aren't around!
With twelve song collections rotated over three years, your family will build a large, varied repertoire of beloved songs.

Our Educational Approach
MUSIC IMMERSION
Since children learn by watching, listening, and playing, our approach is to immerse the children in a rich musical environment full of interesting sounds, movements, rhythms, meters, and tonalities. With various kinds of instruments to explore, silly things to laugh at, and lots of different models to follow, children learn how to make music, naturally.
CHILD-CENTERED
In Music Together®, children get to respond to the music activities in their own way and in their own time. There is no expectation to sit still, perform on cue, and it isn't about learning to follow directions. The class environment is structured, but free. This creates the disposition to try new things and stimulates the learning cycle of play, discovery, practice, and mastery.
PARENT/CAREGIVER MODEL
A child's favorite and most influential model is an adult with whom they have a close bond- that's you! There is no need for music knowledge or skill; come prepared to be silly and have fun. You'll learn engaging music activities you can do at home, and with the help of the songbook and recordings, support your child’s music learning and overall development all week long.
MUSIC CLASSES FOR
Children 0-5
Our Mixed Age classes for children 0-5 create a warm, family-style environment where each child participates at their own developmental level. Rooted in research, babies observe and respond, toddlers explore and play, and preschoolers grow into confident leaders, all learning from one another through rich, hands-on musical experiences.
Why Mixed Age Classes
Beyond the convenience of bringing siblings to the same class, there are compelling educational reasons to mix ages during early childhood. The opportunity to observe many different models of musical expression is beneficial for both younger and older children. A mixed-age environment - where all students are free to respond and participate in their own way and on their own time - is also naturally inclusive for children with developmental differences. The social-emotional learning opportunities abound in a mixed-age class. By pointing out and celebrating the musical responses we observe, the children gain awareness and appreciation of others. Babies are mesmerized by the toddlers' sounds and ability to move around freely, toddlers love to follow the leadership of the preschoolers, and older children love sharing their lyric ideas and dance moves. The three and four-year-olds' self-confidence blossoms as they take on leadership roles, master singing full songs, and help their teacher.
